Day 1 Blyderiver Canyon South Africa
We depart @ 7 am from Pretoria / Johannesburg and travel the scenic road to Mpumalanga. Along the way we visit Dullstroom, traverse Robbers Pass and spend time at the quaint historic town of Pilgrim's Rest. We also visit Bourke's Luck Potholes and the Blyde River Canyon. There after we wind our way down to the escarpment to the Lowveld bushveld where we overnight in our well appointment bush lodge. The lodge is tastefully designed, totally blends in with the environment, and offers comfortable beds, en suite bathrooms, a refreshing swimming pool, and stunning views over the surrounding bush. Dinner tonight is cooked on the open fire. (D)
Day 2 Kruger National Park South Africa
Up at sunrise after coffee, we enter the park and start our safari in the world renowned Kruger National Park. The vehicles are designed to travel on all the roads in the park and takes us to some of the best game drive routes, giving us the opportunity to view the varied landscapes, ecosystems and abundant wildlife. Breakfast is enjoyed as prepared by your guide at one of the many picnic sites in the park The entire day is spent game viewing, bird watching and stopping off at the various waterholes. Lunch is enjoyed in the park (own cost) at one of the rest camps - an opportunity to cool off in their swimming pool is welcoming and refreshing. We continue our safari till late afternoon before returning to our lodge to relax and freshen up for dinner

Day 3 Thorneybush Private Game Reserve South Africa
We start the day with the customary coffee and rusks before setting off on our first game drive in Thorney Bush private game reserve. This game drive brings us up very close and personal with the "Big 5 " After our 3 hour game drive we return to our lodge where we enjoy bruch and relax next to the swimming pool, read write post cards or enjoy a unguided walk on one of the many well market walking trails. After siesta time it's time to prepare for our sunset drive so place your sun downer order with your guide, grab a jacket and let get back on those Land Rovers for a sun set drive. A fair bit of off road driving is expecting so hold onto your seats.
Being in the bush at night provides us with the opportunity of viewing nocturnal animals, otherwise not normally seen. This evening we enjoy a hearty bush "braai" and again fall asleep to the sounds of the wild (bruch D)
Day 4 Bush Walk Swaziland
As we begin our day with early morning coffee and rusks we venture out on aearly morning bushwalk accompanion by either a young male lion or 3 young cheetha's. After breakfast we depart towards Swaziland .
We would do a normal border crossing ( remember passports) and then travel towards Mbabane the capitol of Swaziland. En route we visit Ngoma Glass Blowing factory and workshops where we will enjoy lunch (own cost) We overnight in Milwane Wildlife Sanctuary (B)
Day 5 St Lucia South Africa
This morning after breakfast we first stop by a unique candle factory before heading south towards the South African border. We enter S A and head for Hluhluwe Game reserve where we do an afternoon game drive in the oldest game reserve in South Africa (optional extra). Then on into Zululand arrive mid afternoon at the town of St Lucia, a world heritage site and home to hippo, crocodile and no less than 367 bird species
Overnight in St Lucia, we explore the village tonight and enjoy dinner at local restaurant (own account) (B)

Day 6 Durban South Africa
This morning enjoy a cruise on Lake St Lucia before departing to Durban. Hug the lush KwaZulu-Natal coast line en route to Durban, watching the sugar cane fields do their own version of the Mexican wave at the urging of the wind. End the tour before lunch, either at the airport or at a central Durban hotel (B) |
